Palaestra Gymnastics Academy was founded by Kathy Needham in 1980. We take our name from the Greek word Palaestrum, some of the first training grounds for the Olympic games — and we believe in the same generations-old holistic practices that these original Olympians trusted.

MOVEMENT EDUCATION
Palaestra Gymnastics Academy preschool program is taught through movement education. This program provides a foundation for future sports, whether your child becomes a gymnast or not. Palaestra Gymnastics program is a proven system that develops listening skills, self-esteem, physical strength, coordination, agility, and most of all, an “I can” attitude. Children learn the concept of basic gymnastic skills. They discover self-reliance, independent thinking, safety skills, problem solving skills, and completion of tasks. We provide a safe, fun filled, nurturing environment for all!

The focus of Palaestra Gymnastics Academy Recreational Program, is to nurture the essential skills of self-confidence, self-esteem, and mental discipline. Teamwork, respect for others, physical training and technique are always emphasized. This is the key to developing our students into happy, productive and successful young adults. We concentrate on more than gymnastics!
CHEER/TUMBLE

Palaestra Gymnastics Academy offers exceptional tumbling instruction for beginner to advanced level athletes of all ages. Palaestra provides a professional staff with expert spotting abilities along with a fully equipped gym including a competition cheer spring floor, Olympic rod tumbling strip, 40’ tumble track trampoline and much more. Palaestra has been a proven and trusted training facility since 1980 working with semi-professional cheer teams as well as Club and Division 1 College athletes.

PGA offers USAG competitive teams levels 3 through 10, as well as the Xcel program.
If your child is currently on a competitive team, please contact us for details regarding evaluation, placement opportunities, rates, schedule, etc.
We are currently accepting all levels for our competitive teams. PGA has been producing state champions since 1993 through our specialized training system.
